About Me
Hi there, I’m Abi Jones, an Information Architect living in Stanford, CA and working in San Francisco. I edit the most comprehensive frozen food review site on the Internet and draw ideas for a living.
I enjoy putting together furniture. Even the stuff from Ikea. I could eat almonds just about every day, but sometimes I opt for sweet and spicy pecans. I read single-subject histories about things like Salt and Viruses.
Me in bullets:
- I’ve lived in six different states in this order:
OR → WA → TX → PA → DC → CA
I know, DC is sort of not a state. - Before I became a designer I was a 3rd grade teacher.
- Before I was a 3rd grade teacher I worked for my family’s wrestling singlet business. My favorite part of that job was designing singlets. My least favorite part of that job was standing for 8 hours a day, cutting fabric.
- I like what California’s been doing with Zinfandel lately, and am a fan of blends from Paso Robles wineries like Tablas Creek and Justin. Lately I’ve been lucky enough to offer usability guidance on I Drank This.
- If were crazy rich, I’d become a Thomas Edison of the 21st century.
- I’m learning to run. I’m an avid ellipticaller, but running is a new part of my life. What I miss most about the elliptical is that I was able to watch TV and read magazines while using it. If I try watching TV while running on a treadmill I end up like this:
- Every day I take a picture of the morning train at post it at http://momentile.com/jonesabi. The photo set (now nearing 200) makes Palo Alto look unnaturally gray.
