Redesigned Soy Sauce Packets

After decades of dealing with impenetrable plastic pouches of terror, these new soy sauce packets from Kikkoman are easy to open and feature an arrow pointing directly to spot you usually struggle to find.

Thanks, anonymous Kikkoman packet designer: you made a fantastic choice in slit placement and angle.

Tortilla Warmer Design

Tortilla Box by Abi Jones

After talking about my love for all things tortilla and remarking on the essential nature of the tortilla warmer, Melinda commented:

Best invention ever. You should design that slides open to hold different kinds. corn on the bottom, flour on the top, crepes in the middle for dessert. WIN

So I gave the idea a few hours to sit around in my head, and then sketched out a rough draft of a multi-level tortilla warmer. I liked the idea of one with levels for different types of tortillas. A lot of times in a single meal I’d like both flour and corn tortillas. When I mentioned my sketches to Melinda, she drew her own.

The results were eerily similar:

Epic Tort Box

My version is at the top of this post. Hers at the bottom. What more could you want from a tortilla warmer? Get more of Melinda’s opinions at Jet Girl Art.
