After talking about my love for all things tortilla and remarking on the essential nature of the tortilla warmer, Melinda commented:
Best invention ever. You should design that slides open to hold different kinds. corn on the bottom, flour on the top, crepes in the middle for dessert. WIN
So I gave the idea a few hours to sit around in my head, and then sketched out a rough draft of a multi-level tortilla warmer. I liked the idea of one with levels for different types of tortillas. A lot of times in a single meal I’d like both flour and corn tortillas. When I mentioned my sketches to Melinda, she drew her own.
The results were eerily similar:
