Cheers For Abi

September 2007 - Dear Abi, This past weekend, yet another person commented about the readability, aesthetics and user-friendliness of our website. I cannot thank you enough for rescuing us from our old site! You stepped in when we needed you, and the site has been fantastic. We could not have made as much progress without it. Thank you so much! Chris

After moving from Washington, DC to Stanford, CA I started evaluating all of the items I brought with me. They must have been special for me to ship them across the country, right? One of the things I kept was this note from Chris Myers Asch, a co-founder of the United States Public Service Academy.

This note reminds me that the work I do should be more than usable, it should be enjoyable.. Chris isn’t a User Experience person, but he knows what makes for a good website:

  • Readability
  • Aesthetics
  • User-Friendliness

“Two years ago I knew nothing about new media and blogging. Abi pushed us to get into new media because she knew it would help our web presence and the reputation of the organization. I started blogging and with her guidance the blogs are now pulling thousands of people each month into our website. She is an incredibly dedicated, thoughtful and knowledgeable person who is great to work with.” June 5, 2009 Saba, Dave, President, American Board for Certification of Teacher Excellence managed Abi at American Board for Certification of Teacher Excellence
